They both have reached an age when they should rest. But their grandchildren lost their mothers. The women have consequently stepped in and are now caring together for eleven children.
Mnyazi and Kariro ensure every day that the children get a good diet and attend school, something the grandmothers never had an opportunity to do. It is not an easy task for the elderly women, who are also living in marginalized, drought-affected villages of Bamba, far from electricity and running water.
Mnyazi and Kariro are true change makers.
Our mission is to assist them.
