Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I directly support a child?
Yes. Our approach is to link a child with the child supporter. Your donation will directly support the child that will have been assigned to you.
How is the money spent?
Half of the donation is given to the caregiver of the child as a cash transfer for purchasing food and other basics. The other half covers Child Health and Livelihood Support services. You can read how support is provided in more detail here.
How much do I commit to giving and for how long?
We ask for support of £10 a month per child. Child Support is a one year commitment.
Will the siblings of the sponsored child benefit?
Yes they will. We link child supporters directly with specific children, but we ensure that all children in the home benefit from all the components of the Child Support scheme.
Will I receive updates about the child I support
We will update you with the progress of the child you support at least twice a year. You will also have an assigned person to contact about the child who is available whenever you are.
Can I send the child a letter?
