BAMBA Child Support Program is a small development organisation providing support to vulnerable children in Bamba, rural Kenya.
We work in one of the most marginalized regions in Kenya, ravaged frequently by droughts. In Bamba’s two villages we provide assistance to those who need it most: children living in extreme poverty, orphans and half-orphans mostly under care of elderly grandmothers or single mothers, children battling HIV and malnutrition.
Since 2015 we have transferred livestock to the children’s families to help them build up and control their own assets, we have launched Child Support scheme featuring regular cash grants for food and basics and we have supported the poorest households in securing shelter.
We work as a community based organisation in Kenya, where we deliver our services, and as a charity in the UK and a voluntary association in Poland, where we raise funds.
Since the beginning of our activity in Kenya we have been working closely with the communities and the local government on the ground to ensure that our work has the local buy-in and complements local efforts.
Our goal is to grow and support more children as the need is enormous and our service in demand.
